Apple yesterday announced an upgrade to its iPad with retina display. They call it the 4th generation iPad. While you may be surprised that the iPad 3rd gen got discontinued in mere 6 months, it is a fact that the 4th gen iPad is just a tiny upgrade and the iPad 2 continues to sell in the market. The bump in features for the iPad 4th gen comes with a new processor (A6X), Lightening port, HD front camera and upgraded support for LTE. We are sure that the new iPad would make its way to the Indian market and every other market where the iPad 3rd gen used to sell.
Here are the different models of iPad 4th gen that would be in the market:
- iPad 4 16GB WiFi only
- iPad 4 32GB WiFi only
- iPad 4 64GBÂ WiFi only
- iPad 4 16GB with WiFi and 3G/LTE
- iPad 4 32GB with WiFi and 3G/LTE
- iPad 4 64GB WiFi and 3G/LTE
Given the same pricing and minor upgrade, we DO NOT expect any change in the India pricing for the 9.7″ iPad. The Retina Display iPad would continue to sell at a starting price of Rs 31,500 in India. The iPad mini on the other hand is expected to start selling for Rs 20900.
